The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, says it is investigating the founder of foreign exchange web platform, AbokiFX, Oniwinde Adedotun.
The Governor of the apex bank, Godwin Emefiele made this known on Friday after the Monetary policy committee’s two-day meeting in Abuja.
He described the website as a “criminal platform” that engages in illegal forex transactions.
Emefiele said, “The only exchange rate remains the I&E window, which is the market we expect everybody who wishes to procure or sell forex to get it.
“I am sorry to say that I do not, and I do not intend to recognise any fx in the market.

“I have given instructions to our experts to go after AbokiFX and let it be clear that we will go after him because we can’t allow this to continue.
“Go to your bank. Even if your limit is above what the bank is selling, put it forward, and we will look into it.
“If you want to sell the dollar, go to your bank and sell it.”
