Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has named Alhaji Ibrahim Aliyu as the second first class chief and new Emir of Gaya Emirate of Kano state.
Aliyu, the former Ciroma Gaya and eldest son of the immediate past Emir of Gaya, was announced the new successor by Kano State government on Sunday.

The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, said the government found Aliyu worthy to succeed his late father among the five candidates earlier recommended by the kingmakers.
Gaya Emirate was amongst the four emirates created by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in 2020.
