Reading the resolution after their meeting, Lalong said while some Northern governors favoured power shift to the south to foster national unity, the forum found the statement of the Southern Governor’s contradictory to the provision of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999.
Lalong said that the Constitution stated that president must score the major rity votes, score at least 25% of the votes cast in two-thirds of the states of the Federation.
