A human rights activist and former Presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has said there will be EndSARS memorial protests across the country on October 20.
Sowore made this known following the warning by the Lagos State Police Command against fresh protests in the state.
The Lagos Police Command’s Spokesperson, Adekunle Ajisebutu, had earlier on Monday, said that the police will use all legitimate means within their constitutional powers to prevent any gathering of some individuals in the state.
Reacting to the statement, Sowore, in a post on his verified Twitter handle on Monday, said that protests would hold.
He tweeted, “@PoliceNG in Lagos & across Nigeria, there will be #EndSARS memorial protests and direct actions on October 20, 2021.
“Nobody can suppress the will of Nigerians to repudiate the mass atrocities of the @mbuhari regime on that day and beyond.”
