Police Nab Three Men While Exhuming Corpse In Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three men namely, Sunday Aregbede, Salisu Mamud and Bosere Rasaq while exhuming the corpse of one Segun Taiwo.

The were arrested on Wednesday while exhuming the remains of Taiwo, who was buried at about six months ago at Abule Sikiru area of Sabo Abeokuta.

A statement by the Command’s PRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspects were arrested at about 11:30 p.m. following a distress call received from one Chief Felix Obe, who informed the police at ilupeju divisional headquarters, that he saw some men digging the grave of the deceased.

The statement read in part, “Upon the information, the DPO Ilupeju division, Mustapha Opawoye led his men to the scene where the three suspects were apprehended with the exhumed corpse.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects exhume the corpse in order to use part of it for money making ritual.”

Oyeyemi said that the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation with the view to charging them to court as soon as possible.
