Gunmen Abduct Eight Residents In Ekiti

At least eight residents of Itapaji Ekiti in the Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State were on Tuesday night kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

The gunmen were said to have stormed the house where the houseowner was preparing for the burial of his mother, shot sporadically into the air and made away with eight persons.

The abductors were said to have contacted the family of the victims on Wednesday morning and demanded N50 million ransom.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the incident, said the command was working with the Joint Task Force to ensure they rescue the victims.
