NSCDC Arrests 14-Year-Old ‘Bandit’ In Zamfara
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zamfara State Command, have arrested 14-year-old Sani Suleiman for alleged banditry.
In a statement, Ikor Oche, the spokesperson for the command, said Suleiman, who hailed from Kadage village of the Zurmi Local Government Area of the state, was arrested by the men of NSCDC on patrol on February 7, 2022, at about 1am at Samaru Area Gusau.
Oche said he was brought to the state headquarters in Gusau for investigations where it was found out that he was trained by a bandit kingpin on how to handle weapons.
“The investigation revealed that he was trained by one bandit kingpin Salihu at Sububu forest on weapon handling”.

“He confessed to have participated in cattle rustling and kidnapping activities”.
“The teenager also confessed that he raped women who were kidnapped and brought to their custody.”
“Investigations is still on and once it is concluded, the corps will do the needful”, Oche added.
He called on parents to be vigilant on their children in order to avert bad attitudes among teenagers.
