2023: Bello Shuns Zoning, Says He Is Confident Of Winning

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has shunned the expected zoning formula arrangement of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 elections.

The party had on Saturday declared former Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Adamu, who is from the same zone with Bello, its National Chairman.

However, Bello, while speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday was confident of winning the party’s ticket no matter the mode of primary the party adopts also adding that the zone of the national chairman does not count.

The governor said the party needs a vibrant candidate who can build bridges across the country.
He said the APC needs a vibrant, smart and young candidate to fly the flag of the party, stressing “I am confident my party, the APC will give me the chance to fly the flag of the party.”

“By the grace of God, after my emergence as the presidential candidate, every other zoning arrangement will sort itself out naturally, just like what you saw at the Eagle Square on Saturday.

“By the grace of God, we are going to pass through democratic process; consensus is part of it, voting is part of it, but I am confident that whichever way you go by, our party will come out the best by electing me as the flag bearer of the APC,” Bello insisted.
