Rivers State Pensioners Give Conditions To Support Wike’s Presidential Ambition

Rivers State pensioners have demanded that the state governor, Nyesom Wike, pay their their 7 years pension arrears if he wants them to support his presidential ambition.

According to the aggrieved pensioners, life has been difficult since the state government has decided to withhold their pension arrears and gratuities.

The Coordinator of the pensioners, Lucky Ati, who spoke in Port Harcourt, several retirees have lost their lives and living like paupers while some of them can not send their children to school due to the lack of payment.

Ati appealed to the governor to ensure the promotion of workers to prevent “the stagnation of their pension” when they retire.

The position of the pensioners is coming one week after the state council of the Nigeria Labour Congress vowed to work against the presidential ambition of the governor if he fails to address workers’ demands.
