Imo Directs Traders To Pay N5000 for Database

The Chairman, Imo House Committee on Commerce and Industry, Hon Samuel Ogbunikpa, has briefed traders carrying out business in the state that they will pay N5000 for them to be enlisted in a database.

Ogbunikpa who addressed the traders under the platform of Imo State Amalgamated Market Traders’ Association said the exercise will be beneficial to the traders urging the to swiftly make payment.

He said when there is a need for the state government to intervene, they will consult the data and those who are not enlisted will not benefit from it.

The chairman noted that the registration will help the government capture the number of traders in the state State for developmental purposes, as well as other benefits accruing from the exercise.

He sent a note of warning to the leadership of ISAMATA against inflating the cost of the database capturing, insisting that days were gone when executives of trade associations monopolized the benefits that accrued to traders.
