Outrage As Lagos School Tries To Conceal Rape Case Against 10-year-old Pupil
A school located in Victoria Garden City, Lagos, Chrisland School, is under fire from social media users following reports that the school tried to conceal an alleged rape case against a 10-year-old female pupil.
The school reportedly suspended the unnamed pupil after she was allegedly gang raped by fellow Nigerian students during the World School Games in March in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
As of press time, it is not clear if the school also suspended the other culpable learners. We cannot also verify the age of the girl’s co-students. However, they are all believed to be teenagers.
In April 14, 2022, a letter was addressed to the girl’s parent where authorities at the school told the girl’s father that she took part in “improper behaviour” after playing the truth-or-dare game, describing her as a “major participant.”

Narrating the incident, Nigeria’s music executive, Ubi Franklin, through his Twitter on Sunday said the video of the rape was made by her fellow students and shared on Instagram.
Franklin accused the school of covering up the incident for a month, adding that parents of the survivor found out on their own.
“Just got off the phone with a friend of mine. His 10-year-old daughter was selected to represent her school at the World School Games in Dubai. His daughter was raped by fellow students, video tapped and posted on Instagram and the school concealed it for a month,” he Twitted.
According to Franklin, found out on his own when another parent called and showed his wife the video of his 10 year old daughter being circulated on Instagram.
“I have spent the last one hour listening to confessional statements by some teachers and I am begging this should rather be a dream,” he lamented.
To further aggravate the issue, Chrisland was said to have carried out a pregnancy test on the student then suspended her afterwards.
“This school took the girl from her parents because they wanted to conduct a COVID-19 test. Rather they took the girl for a pregnancy test.
“As we speak the girl has been suspended from the school. Some things don’t make sense at all,” he recounted.
