Ekiti: Don’t Give Your Land To India Hemp Cultivators – NDLEA Warns

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Ekiti State Command has warned land owners in the state to desist from leasing their lands to people who will use it to cultivate India hemp.

According to the state commander of the Agency, Anthony Ariyo-Olowoniyi who said this in Ado Ekiti, traditional rulers are advised to also watch out for happenings in their lands.

He disclosed the Agency’s new initiative, War Against Drug Abuse, WADA, which was set up by the command.

He decried the misuse of lands by some people in the state, maintaining that some of the rent lands to grow India Hemp and carryout other illegalities.

He hinted that people who lease out lands to such farmers will be prosecuted as well when the farmer is caught.

The NDLEA commander appealed to youths to desist from drug abuse due to its health implications, which include, insanity, psychological problem, damage of the heart and even death.
