Champions League: Liverpool And Villarreal Set Lock Horns At Anfield
Liverpool are set to take on Spanish side Villarreal at Anfield later this evening as they aim to reach their tenth European Cup final.
The Mercyside Red are considered one of the favourite to lift the UEFA Champions League this season, but Liverpool heads into the game without a win at Anfield in this season’s knockout rounds and have managed only two victories in their five UEFA Champions League knockout games at home to Spanish clubs.
One the other hand Villarreal are heading into game with a shocking draw against Bayern in the Allianz Arena after grabbing a 1-0 win at their home stadium.
The two sides’ last meeting was in the semi-final of the 2015/16 UEFA Europa League, were by Adrian López scoring the only goal of the first leg in Spain to earn victory for a Villarreal side who were coached by Marcelino.
