The All Progressives Congress has lost the sum of $75,000 to a yet-to-be-identified thief at their National Secretariat on Wednesday during the sales of expression of interest and nomination forms.

The cash is equivalent to N43,000,000 when converted.

The ruling party had used canopies for the activities because of the ongoing renovation at the main building but drama began when the canopy where the forms were sold was abruptly taken down, PUNCH reports.

Recall that the APC had earlier pegged the presidential forms for N100 million and governorship forms for N50 million.

Sources revealed that the sum of $75,000 had gone missing amid the crowded struggle at the main entrance to the party premises but clarified that it was not part of the monies for the forms as there is a designated account to pay into.

“It’s actually $75,000. You know there was a struggle at the gate when aspirants and supporters were trying to get in.

“When the parcel of money dropped, it went missing in a flash. By the time security operatives were alerted, the thief had vanished with the envelope,” the party source said.

Earlier, the secretariat had been a beehive of activities as aspirants trooped in to obtain forms for various electoral offices.
