Ebute Metta Building Collapse Death Toll Increases To Eight

Six more corpses have been discovered at the collapsed building in Ebute-Metta, Lagos state, making it a total of eight casualties.

The Southwest Zonal Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency, Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, said this on Monday in Lagos.

According to him, the eight dead persons include five males and three females.

An old three-Storey building collapsed at N0 24 Ibadan Street, off Herbert Macaulay Way, Ebute-Meta on Sunday night at about 10.56 p.m.

Earlier, AN24 reported that a mother and her son were killed in the building collapse.

23 occupants of the building were rescued.

However, rescue operations were ongoing at the site of the incident in search of occupants trapped under the rubble.
