So today, we have compiled a list of Nollywood stars who are always in the news for the right and wrong reasons.

Mercy Aigbe

Popular nollywwod actress, Mercy Aigbe, has been regarded as one of the most talked about Nigerian actor recently.
The Fashionista and celebrity actress is now trending on social media as she is been dragged by the first wife of her new husband, Oluwafunsho Adeoti.
Mercy regularly flaunts her beauty and lifestyle on social media which drives a lot of controversy on her page.

Yul Edochie

Yul Chibuike Daniel Edochie popularly known as Yul Edochie, Is the son of Veteran Nigerian actor Pete Edochie.

Yul has been in the news recently for different purposes, first of all his presidential ambitions and his affair with fellow Nollywood star, Judy Austin.
In April, the 40-year-old actor threw his fans, colleagues and social media into a frenzy after sharing pictures of himself and his baby boy on his Instagram page.

The actor said it was high time the world met his son, Star Dike Munachimso Yul Edochie, whom he loves much as his other children.

He also noted that amidst the controversies and uproar surrounding the recent crisis in his marriage, he was not going to make his first wife, May, appear inadequate in public.

After all his stunt he went back to say it was a prank and went on to tell Nigerians buy him a presidential form.

Tonto Dikeh

The famous King Tonto fondly known as a drama queen constantly drives traffic on her social media platforms.
It could be recalled that in 2019,she trended in the entertainment news, after she ended her marriage with her estranged husband, Churchill Olakunle. Revealing that he cannot last 40 secs on a woman.
About two weeks ago, the king was up on the media again after she posted a video of herself somersaulting in the presence of some kids and her dress revealing some private places.

Nkechi Blessing

Yoruba nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing is also one of the top headliners among the nollywood actors, whose lifestyle and posts constantly stirs up reactions on social media.
Recently, Nkechi posted on her snapchat platform telling broke men never to send her direct messages on social media.
According to her, ”men who do not have money will only waste my time by engaging in meaningless conversations”.
These statement came weeks after she ended her relationship with the Ekiti-born Politician , Opeyemi Falegan, exposing dirty secrets about each other.

Funke Akindele

One of the top succesful ators in the nollywood industry, Funke Akindele Bello has also been considered as a controversial celebrity.
Months ago, the movie writer and producer was trending on social media about some crisis in her marriage, of which her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello came out to debunk such speculations, saying ” devil is a liar”.
In 2020, Akindele was arrested and charged to court after hosting a birthday party in honor of her husband in their house which was against the covid-19 general lock down.

Annie Macaulay

Annie Macaulay–Idibia wife of Nigerian music Legend Innocent Ujah Idibia is another person who is no stranger to controversies.

The actress has always been in one drama or the other.

Her last controversy was just last two months where elder brother, Wisdom Macaulay called her out.
Wisdom in a viral video accused Annie of threatening his life and taking away his means of livelihood.

He said that while working with the actress she never pay him his dues, she would rather prefer to send him N20,000 or N30,000 and turn him to her slave. According to him, the actress and reality star is a violent person and drug user.

A Week later her brother made a U turn and pleaded with his sister in a video with via the same account he used to taint her image to forgive him of his wrongdoings.

Eniola Badmus

The Yoruba actress, Eniola Badmus has been making a buzz on the internet since she embarked on her weightloss journey.
She constantly posts videos and pictures of herself showing off her body transformation process.
The former plus size actress was recently in the news when she captioned one of her pictures on Instagram saying,”Every man’s choice.. I can’t even lie, my DM is crazy right now, y’all should take it easy on me ooo”..
Eniola Badmus had also gotten into a clash with one of her colleague, Laide Bakare, after she posted a comment on the pictures of laide flaunting her new car.
The comment which laide termed hate was however reversed after Eniola Badmus came up to say it was just a joke.

Laide Bakare

Laide Bakare has been the hot talk in the yorubahood industry has she shows off her achievements on social media.
Bakare who had recently revealed her 100 million house which she supposedly built within four months,was completely shunned by colleagues at the over top birthday party/house opening ceremony she threw.
Since Bakare began to reveal her luxuries, she as been at logger heads with some of her colleagues such as Nkechi Blessing, Eniola badmus and so on claiming that they are all haters and God will keep blessing her as an answer to their beef.

Jim Iyke

James Ikechukwu Esomugha, popularly known as Jim Iyke, is also very controversial, he may not be in the news currently but when he is, there is always drama.

His most recent controversy, happened late last year, whereby there were reports that Jim Iyke had confronted and attacked another Nollywood actor Uche Madugwu at his place of work, over some defaming statements.

The trouble had started a few days after another controversial actor Uche Maduagwu made a post via his Instagram questioning the extravagant lifestyle of Jim Iyke.

Uche Maduagwu, in the post, shared on his page, questioned the source of income of his colleague, Jim Iyke, going as far as vowing to quit Nollywood if Jim Iyke opens up on his real source of income. He also called the actor a ritualist.

He threatened to invite the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to investigate his colleague, citing that the Nigerian people are yet to recover from the shame Hushpuppi brought upon the country.

Reacting to the post, Jim Iyke went over to his place of work, publicly attacking him which stirred a lot of reactions on social media.
The actor, hours after the incident, via his Instagram, shared photos of himself captioning it, ‘If unbothered was a person’

Few months later it was revealed by Uche Maduagwu that it was just for clout that Jim Iyke paid him to do so, which was not denied by Jim Iyke either.

The fight came just before the release of Jim Iyke’s comeback film Bad Comments.
Jim Iyke also revealed that had spent over 20million Naira in the film’s promotion according to THE GUARDIAN.

Zubby Michael

Azubuike Michael Egwu professionally known as Zubby Michael is also on this list.

The actor’s last controversy was In February this year, when Some Nigerian youths in Kaduna, criticized Nollywood actor, Zubby Michael, for flaunting the receipt of N8,455,900 he spent on food on his Instagram account.

According to a report by News Agency of Nigeria, the youths described the amount he spent on the food and the displaying of the receipt as extravagant.
They said he is among the many factors in the country that enables the youths engage into money rituals just to show to the world.

Regina Daniels

From getting married to a old rich billionaire, to controversies surrounding her age.

Regina Daniels is always in the news be for one thing or the other, her last issue was with Popular Kayanmata (aphrodisiac) seller, Hauwa Muhammed aka Jaruma.

The drama all started when Regina asked Jaruma to stop posting pictures of her with Kayanmata, but Jaruma didn’t listen has she went further to claim that the she paid actress and that she will post her picture any time she likes,

Also in an Instagram post on December 9, 2021 the sex therapist made a video expressing her disappointment over the accusations Nwoko made against his ex-wife, Charani. She also stated that she was shocked that a 74-year-old man would speak ill of a woman in such a manner.
She claimed that Nwoko was being controlled by his actress wife, Regina, who uses her Kayanmata product.
