President Muhammadu Buhari and some of his ministers who are vying for elective positions in 2023 are in a closed-door meeting.
The president had on Wednesday ordered ministers and federal appointees seeking elective positions to resign, in-line with section 84 (12) of the Amended Electoral Act.
Subsequently, the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba and the Minister of Niger delta affairs, Godswill Akpabio obeyed the president’s directive by tendering their resignation letters.
Ministers at the meeting as of the time of filing this report include Rotimi Amaechi (Transportation); Chris Ngige( Labour and Employment); Goodwill Akpabio (Niger Delta Affairs); Abubakar Malami (Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation).
Others are Ministers of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ogbonnaya Onu and Women Affairs, Paullen Tallen.
Also at the meeting are Ministers of State for Mines and Steel, Uche Ogar; Petroleum Resources Timipre Sylva and Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs Tayo Alasoadura.
