EPL: Arsenal’s Top Four Hope In Danger As They Lose To Newcastle
Arsenal top four hope’s seems to be over after losing 2-0 to Newcastle at St. James’ Park on Monday night.
Arsenal went into the game in search of a win which would have kept them on the brink of Champions League qualification, but things did not go as plan for Arteta boys, as Newcastle were in control right from the get-go, piling relentless pressure on Arsenal’s backline and looking the most likely to score.
The Gunners struggled to keep hold of the ball and control the game, especially in midfield.

Tomiyasu’s evening was cut short after picking up an injury just before half-time, which comes as another setback for the Japanese international. Another injury scare presented itself when Emile Smith Rowe appeared to hobble off eight minutes into the second half.
Later on things went from bas to worse for Arsenal when Ben White scored an own goal to give the host the lead.
Then Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes wrapped things up for Eddie Howe’s side in the last five minutes, leaving Arsenal’s top-four hopes in tatters. The result means Tottenham remain in fourth place with a two-point advantage ahead of the final game of the season on Sunday.
