Gunmen Kill Chairman’s Brothers, One Other In Ebonyi

Unknown gunmen, on Wednesday, raided one of the populous Ebonyi community in Ikwo Local Government Area, killing three brothers of the Chairman, Steve Oruogwu.

They also killed a security guard on duty and burnt the family house of the Orogwus.

The gunmen reportedly invaded the community, moved straight to the family house of the Chairman and opened fire on residents.

A source who spoke to newsmen anonymously said four men were brought in dead at the Federal Teaching Hospital in the state.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ebonyi State Police Command, SP, Loveth Odah, confirmed the incident.

Reports also revealed that the men had issued a threat to Oruogwu since he assumed office and had earlier tried to raze his house but were stopped by security operatives at different times.

This time, they succeeded in invading the LGA Chairman’s residence and killed four persons while he was in Abakaliki town.
