Kogi PDP Primaries: Dino Melaye Loses Senatorial Bid
A former senator who represented Kogi West Senatorial District in the 8th Assembly, Dino Melaye, has lost his bid to serve in the 9th Assembly.
He was defeated by the member of the House of Representatives representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Tajudeen Yusuf.
Yusuf defeated Melaye to clinch the ticket after a tough contest on Monday which ended ended in a deadlock after Yusuf and Melaye polled a total of 88 votes each.
However, Yusuf defeated Melaye in a rerun held on Tuesday with 163 votes for the Federal lawmaker and 99 votes for Melaye.
