Absent Guber Aspirants Are Unserious – Lagos APC Chairman

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Lagos Chapter, Hon Cornelius Ojelabi, has said that the absence of the two aspirants contesting against Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the party’s governorship ticket shows their level of seriousness.
AN24 had earlier reported that Wale Oluwo and Olorunfemi Mustapha, were yet to arrive at the Mobolaji Johnson Sport Arena, Onikan, Lagos to participate in the election.
Speaking to newsmen, Ojelabi said they party did not receive any information regarding their absence at the venue.
According to him, “The absence of the other governorship aspirants shows their seriousness. We are aware there are three aspirants and they were all informed that today is the primary where the party’s flagbearer will emerge. The governor is here seated ready for the party primary. I don’t know why they are not here.
He reiterated the party’s commitment to conduct a free and fair election while noting that the national body of the party is incharge of all activities that will take place at the primary election today.

“This process is driven by the national secretariat of the party. The sales and submission of the forms is done by the national secretariat, the screening of aspirants is also done by the national secretariat of the party. The people that are here to conduct the primary were posted from the national secretariat, they are charged with that particular responsiblity. Our own role is to give them the necessary support where it is needed,” he said.
The voting process has officially commenced as delegates have started casting their votes for their preferred candidate.
