Shehu Sani Fails To Secure Kaduna PDP Guber Ticket

A former Kaduna lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has lost out in the Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial primary election.
The former senator who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th Assembly, took to his Twitter account to announce his loss early Thursday.
Sani appreciated the two delegates who voted for him even though he didn’t “pay them to buy their votes”.
Sani lost to a former House of Representatives member, Isah Ashiru.
He said, “The Kaduna PDP Governorship primaries have been concluded. I lost and Honourable Isah Ashiru won. I wish to congratulate him. Two Delegates voted for me without giving them a dime; unfortunately, I don’t know who they are so I can appreciate these clean votes. We look forward.”

Earlier, Sani vowed not to pay delegates to earn their votes and warned that no one should pay on his behalf.
“I don’t believe in the political ritual of paying to be elected. That is inconsistent with my ideological and moral beliefs.
“I welcome the votes of delegates who will vote for me based on the principles I stand for and my agenda for the good people of Kaduna State.”
