Desmond Elliot Wins APC Ticket For 3rd Term On Children’s Day
The lawmaker representing Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Desmond Elliot, has won the All Progressives Congress for the third term.
Ironically, Elliot won his third term bid on the Children’s Day, a day set aside to celebrate the Nigerian children.
The filmaker cum politician, during the #EndSARS protest in October 2020, referred to protesting youths as “children” during a plenary session.
The movie director’s outburst drew angry reactions on social media with many commenters expressing disappointment on how he addressed the issues.

Criticising him on social media for talking down on Nigerian youths, Elliot was unofficially appointed the “father of Nigerian children”.
Although the lawmaker, who won the primary election which took place on Friday at Akerele Primary Health Centre, apologised for his speech, the name has stuck with him since then.
Announcing the result at 3.00 p.m., the returning officer, Mr Demola Omotosho, declared Elliot the winner with 30 votes as the sole contestant for the ticket.
