Uba Sani, Saddique, Radda, Binani Win APC Governorship Tickets

The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Uba Sani, has defeated President Muhammadu Buhari’s son-in-law, Alhaji Sani Sha’aban and a former Assistant Controller of Custom, Bashir Abubakar to emerge as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 governorship election in the state.

Also, the immediate past Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Abubakar Saddique and the immediate past Director General of Small and Medium Enterprises Agency of Nigeria, Dr Dikko Radda emerged as the APC governorship candidates for Bauchi and Katsina states respectively.

Sani polled 1,149 votes to defeat both Abubakar who got 37 votes and Sha’aban with 10 votes. 39 votes were declared invalid.

According to the Kaduna state Returning Officer for the APC primary election, Anachuna Henry, there were 1,275 delegates but 1,245 were accredited and 1,196 cast their votes.

On his part, Radda pulled 506 votes to beat eight other contestants.

Meanwhile, Senator Aishatu Binani defeated five men to emerge as the governorship candidate of the APC in Adamawa State.

Binani, who has made history as the first woman to win the governorship candidacy of a major political party in the State, floored a former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, immediate past governor of the State, Jibrilla Bindo, House of Representatives member, Abdulrazak Namdas, Wafari Theman and Umar Mustapha.

Binani polled a total of 430 votes to defeat her closest rival, Ribadu, who got 288 votes.
