The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Monday visited the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike in Abuja.
Atiku, a former Vice President, polled 371 votes to defeat Governor Wike who polled 237 votes during last Saturday’s PDP presidential primary held at National Stadium, Abuja.
Wike had since the completion of the primaries and announcement of results on Sunday morning refused to congratulate Atiku for emerging as PDP presidential candidate.
But the former Vice President as part of his efforts to reconcile with his opponents in last Saturday’s primary election ahead of the 2023 polls paid a visit to Wike on Monday in Abuja.
Atiku was accompanied by former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose and PDP National Vice Chairman (South-South), Dan Orbih, among others for a parley with Wike.
AN24 gathered that Governor Wike is one of those being tip as running mate to Atiku in the February 25, 2023, presidential poll.
