A three-man Gubernatorial Primary Appeal Committee set up by the National Working Committee of the All Progressive Congress has thrown out the petition against the process that produced Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2023 elections.
The committee which was constituted by the party national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu was chaired by Hon Ibrahim Akaje while the Secretary was Abubakar Hassan and Hon Ginika Tor as a member.
The Lagos state chapter of the party held its governorship election on May 26 as the incumbent governor declared as the winner after the two other aspirants, former Commissioner of Energy, Mr Wale Oluwo and former Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Energy, Mr Olorunfemi Mustapha, were not cleared for the primary.
Mustapha, however petitioned the APC national body, alleging that he was denied access and participation un the election.
Speaking at the press briefing organised by the committee which was held at the state party secretariat on Wednesday, Akaje said Lagos was among the APC states that recorded relative peace during the primary elections.
