President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to Governors under the platform of the All Progressive Congress to support him to pick the party’s presidential flag bearer at the 2023 polls.
Earlier today, the president met with the 22 APC governors alongside the party’s national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu at the presidential villa to deliberate on the party’s presidential ticket ahead of its convention which is slated for June 6, 2022.
He appealed to them to be united in order to continue to change the dynamics of the country and meet the expectations of Nigerians and the global community through the party’s victory at the polls.
In his appeal to the governors, the APC’s presidential flag bearer must give Nigerians a sense of victory and confidence even before the elections.
Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina in a statement on Tuesday said that Buhari charged the governors to ensure that the presidential flagbearer of the party at the 2023 polls reflects the values and virtue of APC.
According to Adesina, the governor of Kebbi state, Atiku Bagudu who spoke on behalf of his colleagues pledged their support for Buhari to conduct a successful convention.
