2023: Northern APC Governors Back Southern Candidacy

As Jigawa Gov withdraws from presidential race

All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors from the Northern part of the country have thrown their support for the transfer of power to the South.

The APC Northern governors unanimously agreed that the South should produce President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor come May 29, 2023.

The governors take the critical decision during a meeting they held in Abuja on Saturday night.

During the meeting, Governor of Jigawa State and APC presidential aspirant, Muhammadu Badaru withdrawn from the race to support the emergence of Southern candidate during next week’s special convention, where the presidential candidate will emerge.

The governors will communicate their decision to President Buhari during a meeting scheduled for tomorrow with a view of working towards a consensus before the presidential election.
