A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Joe Igbokwe, has said it is impossible to disqualify the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu from the presidential primary of the party.

The chairman of the APC screening committee, John Odigie-Oyegun, had on Friday said that 10 out of the 23 aspirants vying for the party’s presidential ticket were disqualified.

Odigie-Oyegun, who is yet to uncover the names of the aspirants who won’t join the June 6 election, made this known while submitting the list to the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, in Abuja.

However, speaking exclusively to AN24, Igbokwe, who is a staunch supporter of Tinubu said the exercise was not within the ambient of the law.

The Special Adviser on Drainage and Water Resources to Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, further said Tinubu cannot be in the category of disqualified aspirants considering his enviable credentials.

His words, “Nobody was disqualified. That is the only thing I will tell you. It is unconstitutional, you can’t allow people to pay N100 million and then go ahead to disqualify them.

“Don’t ever bring Asiwaju into the issue, nobody will have the courage to disqualify him. As what? Somebody that has been a governor of Lagos State. Since yesterday that it was announced, it is fake news. Let them contest, the stakes are high.”
