Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Orji Kalu Gives Reason Christians Should Support Tinubu

The Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, has assured the Christian population of Nigeria that it is safe to vote for a Muslim-Muslim ticket with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the flag bearer in the 2023 polls.
Kalu argued that since Tinubu has successfully stayed in his marriage to his wife for several years, Senator Remi Tinubu, a Redeemed Christian Church of God pastor, it is obvious he is not a religious bigot.
Some individuals and group, especially those of the Christian faith have condemned Tinubu’s possible choice of a Muslim running mate.

Reacting, Kalu said the speculated Muslim-Muslim ticket should not threaten Christians.
Addressing journalists at the National Assembly on Wednesday, the Senate Chief Whip said, “Let me tell you, in my house, my wife is the head of the house in reality. Even you men that are here, now that your wives aren’t here, they are the head.
“Like if I wear these clothes, my wife will tell me ‘My dear, these clothe is not good remove them’. Your wife will tell you you are supposed to eat Akara and Akamu, whether you argue with her, you must take that Akamu and your wife want you to pay children’s school fees, whether you argue or not, you must pay.
“The Christians should relax because Tinubu’s wife is a pastor and once she’s a pastor we are protected because she’s not a housewife. She has political knowledge.”
