Police: We’re Working To Free Ameerah, 16 Others

The FCT Police Command has said that its operatives are working round the clock to secure the freedom of Ameerah Sufyan and 16 others that were abducted on Tuesday.

Sufyan, had on Tuesday raised an alarm via her Twitter account, @ameerah_sufyan that she and 16 others which include three pregnant women were kidnapped by gunmen disguised as police officers.

She said the abductees, which also include two children were all taken from different parts of Abuja.

Her tweet raised a dust on Nigeria social media space as several people have demanded that security operatives should rescue them immediately.

On Wednesday afternoon, the FCT command provided an update on the incident.

“The investigative & tactical apparatus on the case remains as discoveries are looking promising.

“Contact is maintained with her family to speed up investigation”, it reads.
