The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Segun Oni and his Action Democratic Party, Kemi Elebute-Halle in the ongoing governorship election in Ekiti State has alleged that other political parties are influencing voters with money and other valuables.

According to Oni, he alleged that vote-buying is ongoing in some polling units in Ado-Ekiti and Oye-Ekiti.

“We were informed that vote-buying is ongoing in Ado-Ekiti and Oye. We will inform security operatives that it is their duty to stop the act because vote-buying is against the law,” he said.

On her part, Elebute-Halle accused the frontline political parties of vote-buying

She said, “At my polling unit here — ward 10, unit eight — we are aware that APC has started buying votes for the sum of N10,000; PDP is buying for N5,000 and SDP for N3,000.

“We hope that the whole world is watching them. Something about life is that there is nothing hidden that will not be made open.”
