Ignore News Of Planned Protest By Some Officers – Army
The Nigerian Army, has said that the information going round that some of its officers are planning to protest due to unpaid emoluments and poor working conditions is untrue.
The army in a statement on Wednesday said that there has been a major and positive change for its officers and men of the service.
Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu said the report is a failed move by some enemies of the army to dent their image as it is baseless and unsubstantiated.
Furthermore, the statement explained that the Nigerian Army under the current leadership had provided conducive enablement for officers and men, which has motivated them to work tirelessly with all the logistics equipment that had been injected into the theatres of operations.

He said the army had provided welfare packages, prompt payment of salaries, operational allowances, medical facilities, as well as welfare flights to reduce the burden of troops travelling in and out of the theatres to see their loved ones.
“Scholarships are also being awarded to children of officers and soldiers killed in action in the ongoing operations,” he said.
He said the NA remained a symbol of national unity and cannot afford to be divided along ethnic or religious lines.
