Chelsea are ready to hijack Netherlands midfielder, Frenkie De Jong’s move from Barcelona to Manchester United. According to multiple reports.
De Jong is Erik ten Hag’s No 1 target this summer and it is believed negotiations have reached an advance stage.
Manchester United going to pay an initial £55million to Catalans for De Jong. Which the fee could still rise close to £70m.
However, Chelsea could be plotting a swoop for the midfielder and are monitoring the progress of United’s move for De Jong, according to The Guardian.
Although Chelsea are yet to make any advances themselves, they could pounce if the Red Devils’ move falls through.
The Blues watched De Jong closely before he left Ajax for Barca in 2019 and manager Thomas Tuchel is said to be a fan.
