The Chairman of the Labour Party in Lagos State, Kayode Salako has vowed to deliver the state for his new party in the 2023 general elections.
Salako, who spoke exclusively to AN24 on Monday said he is committed to building Labour Party to become the ruling party in Lagos State and Nigeria.
The former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart in Lagos State, alleged that the ruling party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have failed Nigerians, therefore Nigeria need a party like Labour Party to fix the country.
“Now that I’m the Labour Party chairman, the task given to me is to make Labour Party the ruling party in Lagos State. The PDP and APC have failed us, we need a new party like Labour Party to save Nigeria and fix our nation. “I know that with the support of the media, we will get there. We will set up a strong media team,” he said.
Salako, who announced his defection from the ruling party to the Labour Party some weeks ago, earlier hinted on why he dumped APC.
“Spending my personal money, time and psychological resources heavily on the side of anything that has to do with Bola Tinubu political system since 1999 without recognition and rewards almost ruined me,” Salako posted on his Facebook page.
