The Peoples Democratic Party on Monday announced that its National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings earlier scheduled for Wednesday, August 10 and Thursday, August 11, 2022 has been postponed.
This was made known by the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu.
Although, Anyanwu concealed the reason for postponing the meetings, sources said it was to give the party enough time to settle the rift between its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
Anyanwu said a new date will be announced in due course.
The statement read in part, “This is to inform all members of the PDP National Caucus and National Executive Committee that the meetings of the two bodies earlier scheduled for Wednesday, August 10 and Thursday, August 11, 2022, respectively, have been postponed.
“The postponement is due to unforeseen circumstances. A new date will be announced in due course.
“All inconveniences are deeply regretted.”
