80-Year-Old Mama Biafra Regains Freedom From DSS Detention

The Department of State Services has released a supporter of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Ukamaka Ejezie also known as Mama Biafara from their custody.
This development was confirmed by the group’s lead’s counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, in a series of tweets.
The 80-year-old woman was reportedly arrested during a court appearance of IPOB’s leader, Nnamdi Kanu, at the Federal High Court, Abuja on May 18.

“She is now out of the DSS dungeon,” Ejiofor wrote.
He added that they were not relenting in their bid to ensure “every prisoner of conscience” is released including Kanu.
According to him, “We in the legal team, are doing everything legally permissible to make it happen, we are not resting on our oars at all, be assured.”
