Taraba: Ishaku Swears-In Caretaker Chairmen, Vows To Discipline Underperformers
Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku on Thursday swore-in 16 local councils caretaker committee chairmen.
While delivering his speech during the swearing-in that was held at the Government House, Jalingo, the governor vowed to deal with any of the caretaker chairmen who perform below his expectations.
He said, “I won’t think twice to discipline any underperforming chairman who abuses this privilege for personal gain.”
He also cautioned them against using their new position selfish political ambitions.

He said he would not condone abandoning their task of ensuring people have access to good governance to chase political ambitions.
Ishaku also urged them to participate in the administration’s overall grand design, which entails “good governance, provision of infrastructure, and the overall well-being of all residents of the state.”
Urging them to prioritize the maintenance of peace in their respective councils, he said doing such would enable the government at the state level to herald the much-desired development to the grassroots.
Ishaku, who did not also spare the public, warned them against putting undue pressure on the appointees by making demands that could prevent them from completing the crucial task of enhancing the populace’s quality of life.
