Among the first notable faces to join the congregations were Michael and Carole Middleton, two of the grandparents of Prince George, as well as numerous members of the government and other senior politicians, such as Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer and London mayor Sadiq Khan.

Shortly before 11:00 a.m. (1000 GMT), the oak coffin, covered in the Royal Standard flag with the Imperial State Crown on top, placed on a gun carriage and pulled by naval personnel to Westminster Abbey for her funeral.
King Charles III, the Queen’s eldest son and the new King lead royals in the procession for the funeral service while the Queen’s great-grandchildren, Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 7, the two eldest children of now heir-to-the-throne Prince William, also attended the Queen’s funeral.

The monarch died on September 8 at her Scottish summer home, Balmoral Castle.
