Presidency: God Has Accepted The Choice Of Nigerian Youths – Ezeife
A former governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, has said that God seems to have accepted Nigerian youths’ views on the 2023 presidency.
In an EXCLUSIVE chat with AN24 on Tuesday, Ezeife said Nigeria is designed by God to be an example to other nations but lamented that bad leadership has affected the country heavily.
He, however, said Nigerians are wiser to make the decision of who will govern them and added that the person must be knowledgeable and physically fit.
“God in heaven seems to have accepted the views of the youths that there must be change. Fundamental change which enables Nigeria to achieve its destiny, its design by God to become a superpower among nations. Unemployment must disappear, underemployment must disappear, we should engage in explosive economic development and our choices as to who should be president must be guided by the capacity, knowledge, ability all round and strength of the candidates.
“Gone are the days when we vote people who have no serious intellect to rule us. We know where we are now and I think we know where we want to be, the only way is to choose the right person, to vote wisely.”

On whether the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is his choice for 2023 presidency, the former Anambra governor said, “I didn’t mention any name, but if you say Peter Obi, I support you”.
Reacting to the clash between the supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna on Monday (yesterday), Ezeife urged the youths to remain peaceful throughout the electioneering period.
He said, just like the presidential candidates of political parties, youths should remain as friends no matter what side they belong to.
Quoting him, “My message to the youths is this let there be peace in Nigeria, especially for the period of the campaign and the voting for the presidential candidates. There is no point for aggression, if the candidates joke among themselves, the youth should also joke, but in joking they should bear in mind that they have a job to do. We thank the youths of Nigeria for saving us, for seeing the problems of the country and deciding that a new Nigeria must come into being.”
He also said the two political parties have exhausted their relevance in the country.
“So, the youths should pack up everything about aggression, put them away, we are admiring them as youths but let me advice them, let APC and PDP not fight, both of them are going to the background, they are going to disappear for the Nigerian system because they messed up Nigeria. With Politicians who had no conscience and therefore allowed comprehensive corruption to rule Nigeria,” he said.
Recall that the presidential candidates of the APC, Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, were seen in a viral video, exchanging joking few hours after their supporters clashed.
