One Feared Dead As Groups Clash In Lagos Market

There is tension in the Alaba area of Lagos State as two groups clashed in the early hours of Wednesday.

One person has been confirmed dead in the deadly clash between Alaba Market traders and street urchins, popularly called “Area Boys” in the local parlance.

The market has been shut down due to the confrontation between the two groups.

Details around the clash is sketchy as at press time but it was reportedly caused by the move of the Lagos State Government to clear the roads around the market of illegal loading by commercial buses and traders displaying their wares illegally.
