Niger: NSCDC Trains 270 Personnel In Weapons Handling

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), trained two hundred and seventy personnel in weapons handling in Niger State over insecurity.
The training of the NSCDC is part of efforts by the Corps to tackle the current security challenges in the state.
Ahmed Mohammed Dandare, state Commandant, NSCDC, during the passing out of the trained personnel held in Minna, Niger State, also unveiled the Female Armed Squad in the command as part of the determination of the command to bring insecurity to the barest minimum.

Dandare said the Female Armed Squad will complement the male counterpart in the fight against the abduction of school children and other criminal activities in the state.
The female squad, according to him, were also trained on different techniques to effectively engage in rescue operations, weapon handling, VIP protection, intelligence gathering and tips to tackle sexual gender-based violence, believing that it would go a long way to reduce security challenges in the state.
