2023: Lagos NLC, TUC, NUT, Others Endorse Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu
The organised Labour Unions including the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have endorsed the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.
The Lagos State chapters of these unions on Thursday have also declared support for the second term bid of the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu at a solidarity rally in Ikeja, the state’s capital.
It was gathered that the Lagos State Chairman of the NLC, Funmilayo Sessi and her TUC counterpart, Gbenga Ekundayo were reported to have led thousands of workers and members to the rally which was held at the Police Training College in Ikeja GRA.

Other unions said to be present at the rally include members of the National Union of Teachers (NUT), Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) and the association of herbal medicine dealers.
According to the union leaders, their decision to support Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu was a result of the governor’s landmark achievements and his implementation of Labour-friendly policies in governance.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotosho, took to the micro-blogging platform Twitter to announce the development yesterday.
He wrote “BREAKING NEWS: The organised labour in Lagos today endorsed Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President and Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a second term at a massive rally at the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos.”
