The family source added that they have not been contacted by Ogoshi’s abductors.

Kidnapping had been prevalent in the state and top government officials had not been spared.

It would be recalled that a former deputy governor of the state, Prof. Onje Gye-Wado, was recently kidnapped and released after a ransom of about N4m was paid to his abductors.

Also confirming the incident, the media officer to the deputy governor, Chris Ehima, disclosed that he did not have adequate information on what had transpired although he was informed about the situation.

Ehima expressed shock over the incident, stating that the state government would do everything possible to secure the release of the kidnapped driver.

Also, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, while confirming the incident said the police were on top of the matter.
