Police Stop Mob From Lynching Man Who Killed Lover
A yet-to-be-identified man has been saved by operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command after an angry mob attempted to end his life for killing his girlfriend.
It was gathered that the man allegedly murdered his girlfriend with a machete at Old Command Secondary and Nursery School on Sokoto Road, Kaduna State because she wanted to dump him for another man after spending a lot of resources on her.
The incident was confirmed on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Muhammad Jalige, who said the suspect used a machete on his lover.
Jalige, in a statement issued to newsmen in Kaduna, the state capital, recalled that on April 14 at about 21:30hrs, a distress call was received about a mob action.

The location was the NEPA Roundabout in the Kaduna metropolis, where a crowd were about to lynch a man.
Jalige said operatives of the command mobilised to the scene met the suspect lying unconscious and surrounded by multiple people.
He had attacked the girlfriend on that certain day, inflicting injuries on her face, arms and hands. The left hand was severed.
“The victim was rushed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, for treatment. A doctor on duty confirmed she was dead.
“The corpse of the lady has been deposited at the same hospital, for an autopsy,” Jalige added.
