Assassins Kill Ibadan Varsity Professor
There was tension at the University of Ibadan on Monday night as a professor of the institution, Opeyemi Ajewole was killed by suspected assassins.
AN24 learnt that the university don was returning to his home in the Moniya area of Ibadan when the incident occurred.
His corpse has reportedly been deposited at UI Anatomy.
The assailants took Ajewole’s car after killing him, a source in the university disclosed.
One of the friends of the deceased, Olukayode Ogunsanwo, also confirmed the death of the don on Tuesday.

The friend who was in a sober mood, simply said, “Yes. It is true. It is true”.
Also confirming the incident on Tuesday, Principal Assistant Registrar, Public Communications, at the university, Joke Akinpelu, said, “Yes, it is true. But we are not sure if it is armed robbers or hired assassins.
“He was killed yesterday. The incident happened yesterday”.
Ajewole, until his death, was a lecturer in the Department of Forest Resources Management of the university.
