Kyari Makes Strong Statement, Parks Car In Chairman’s Slot
As governors, party leaders storm Abuja
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Abubakar Kyari, on Monday, parked his car in the slot reserved for the National Chairman of the party, following the resignation of APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
Kyari, through this action, confirmed reports that he had taken over the affairs of the party as the Acting National Chairman, following the resignation of Senator Adamu.
The Acting Chairman few minutes after his arrival at the secretariat led seven members of the National Working Committee (NWC) to a meeting in his office at about 10:40 am.
Those who were with Kyari are Deputy National Chairman (South), Emma Enukwu; National Vice Chairman (North-West), Salihu Lukman; National Vice Chairman (North-East), Salihu Mustapha; National Vice Chairman (North-Central), Muazu Bawa; National Vice Chairman (South-West), Issacs Kekemeke; National Vice Chairman (South-East), Ejoroma Arodiogu and the Deputy National Secretary, Barr. Festus Fuanter.

Some of the NWC members believed to be loyal to Adamu and some power brokers in APC were absent at the meeting presided by the new Acting Chairman.
Meanwhile, AN24 gathered from some sources that following the implosion in the ruling party over the resignations of APC National Chairman, Adamu and the National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, governors and other party leaders have started arriving in Abuja, the seat of power.
The investigation by AN24 revealed that some governors cut short their international trips to return to Abuja yesterday while some hurriedly left their states to travel by air and road to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Sunday. At the same time, some are expected today based on the development in the ruling party.
President Bola Tinubu is also expected to return to Nigeria today after participating in the Fifth Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union, the Regional Economic Communities, the Regional Mechanisms, and the African Union Member States in Nairobi, Kenya.
It is expected that the APC will hold its National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings tomorrow and Wednesday respectively.
