Coup: Max Air Aircraft Stuck In Niamey

Max Air aircraft 5N-ADM on an Hajj flight to Niamey, Niger Republic is stranded in the city’s airport due to the ongoing military coup in the country.

AN24 gathered from a reliable source that the aircraft, a B-747-400 landed in Niamey at 21:40 pm on Wednesday with 360 Nigerian pilgrims onboard.

Captain Maitama Kabo was in command of the 18 crew onboard.

It would be recalled that there was an attempted coup against Niger’s President Mohamed Bazoum, who has been held inside his palace in Niamey since Wednesday.

The incident triggered a standoff with the Army and has sparked global condemnation.
