Ex-Govs, Lawyers, Medical Practitioners, Financial, ICT experts make Tinubu’s ministerial list

The Senate has completed the screening of President Bola Tinubu’s 48 ministerial nominees and confirmed 45 nominations as cabinet members. The 45 nominees were confirmed during the Senate session on Monday, August 7.
The Senate at the end of the screening process refused to confirm the nomination of the immediate past Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir el-Rufai; the Executive Director (Business Development), Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM), Stella Okotete and former Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Abubakar Danladi as ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. They are still undergoing security clearance.
The 45 nominees confirmed by the Senate were made up of former governors, serving and former members of the National Assembly, ex-ministers, politicians and technocrats. The list is made up of eight former governors, seven medical practitioners, eight lawyers, four bankers/financial experts, three academia, three ICT experts and three media gurus and journalists, as well as politicians and technocrats in different fields.
There are eight women among the confirmed ministerial nominees. They are Uju Kennedy Ohaneye (Anambra), Nkieruka Onyejeocha (Abia), Dr Betta Edu (Cross River State), Imaan Sulieman Ibrahim (Nasarawa), Dr Doris Anite Uzoka (Imo), Hannatu Musawa (Katsina), Lola Ade-John (Lagos) and Dr Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure (Kano).
