BREAKING: Sanwo-Olu’s Cabinet: Lagos Assembly confirms 21 of 39 nominees, fails to confirm Omotoso, Abayomi, Adefisayo, Adeyooye, 11 others

Lagos State House of Assembly has confirmed 24 out of the 39 nominees of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for commissioners and Special Advisers.

However, the Senate Lagos State House of Assembly failed to confirm the nomination of the immediate past Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso as well as four of his former colleagues – Folasade Adefisayo (Education), Olalere Odusote (Energy), Bolaji Dada (Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation), Akin Abayomi (Health) and former Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Engr (Mrs) Aramide Adeyooye.

According to a statement by Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, among those confirmed, were former Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Tokunbo Wahab; former Lagos State Solicitor-General, Lawal Pedro and former Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dayo Alebiosu-Bush (SAN), among others.

“We will continue to do our job, we will continue to do our oversight function” Obasa disclosed as he adjourned the House sitting till Monday, August 28.
